COMMISSION TERMS

Commissioned artwork is a collaborative and personalised process. Please review the following terms carefully before requesting a commission through Lydia Beker Art.

GENERAL

Lydia Beker Art reserves the right to accept or decline commission requests at discretion. Commission enquiries may be discussed through email, contact form submissions, or other approved communication channels. Commission availability may vary depending on schedule, workload, exhibitions, and existing commitments.A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before work commences on any commission.

DEPOSITS & PAYMENTS

A 50% deposit is required before work commences. Once work has commenced the deposit is generally non-refundable due to the personalised nature of the commissioned artwork. Time, planning, and creative development are allocated specifically to the project. Final payment is required before delivery or shipment of the completed artwork unless otherwise agreed in writing. Afterpay and buy-now-pay-later services are not available for commissioned artwork. Payment plans may be discussed directly with Lydia Beker Art where appropriate.

PAYMENT PLANS

Payment plans may be offered at the discretion of Lydia Beker Art for the remaining balance following deposit. Artwork will remain with Lydia Beker Art until full payment has been received. Failure to complete agreed payments may result in cancellation of the commission or forfeiture of amounts already paid, where permitted by law.

REFERENCE MATERIAL & CLIENT INPUT

Clients are responsible for providing clear instructions, reference materials, and relevant information required for the commission process. Lydia Beker Art reserves creative discretion regarding artistic interpretation, style, composition, colour palette, and final execution unless otherwise agreed in writing

REVISIONS

Minor adjustments such as colour shifts or small refinements may be accommodated where possible during the revision stage. Compositional changes or significant alterations requested after approval stages have been reached are considered major revisions and may incur additional fees. Any additional costs will be discussed and agreed with the client before work continues.

APPROVALS

Clients may be asked to approve sketches, concepts, progress images, or final stages throughout the commission process. Approval of a stage may limit the ability to request major changes at a later stage.

TIMEFRAMES

Estimated completion timeframes are approximate only and may vary depending on workload, artwork complexity, drying time, exhibitions, health, shipping conditions, or circumstances outside reasonable control. Lydia Beker Art will communicate significant delays where possible.

CANCELLATIONS

If a client cancels a commission after work has commenced, deposits or partial payments may be retained to cover time, labour, materials, and creative development already invested into the project. If Lydia Beker Art is unable to complete a commission, any unused portion of payments received may be refunded where appropriate.

COPYRIGHT & USAGE

All copyright and intellectual property rights remain with Lydia Beker Art unless otherwise agreed in writing. Clients may not reproduce, commercially use, alter, distribute, mint as NFTs, or reproduce commissioned artwork without written permission. Lydia Beker Art reserves the right to display commissioned artwork for portfolio, website, social media, exhibition, and promotional purposes unless confidentiality has been agreed in writing prior to commencement.
